Who we are

Huntingdon Women's Circle was birthed in May 2018 from an inner call: first heard in ceremony years prior — a loud, clear message to create community. At the time Mary didn't fully understand it. But as she moved through mothering, she began to. Women needed safe space to gather, to remember who they are, and to weave their magic.

What began as a seed has grown through many seasons, shaped by every woman who has sat in the circle, shared her truth, and left something of her essence in the air. Some women come for something specific. Some come and stay. There are always seasons — arrivals and departures, blooms and fallow times. Like the land itself, the circle moves with the greater impulse of life. We bow to every woman who has been part of it.

The circle is currently held by four women — Mary, Esther, Amanda and Claire — who offer their time, their gifts and their hearts to its safe growth. We hold dreams for how it will continue to bloom, and we trust that the ripples from what happens here travel further than we can see.

Mary

Mary is a mother of three who works in technology by day. Since her teens she has been moved by a single question: what is consciousness — as intellectual enquiry and as lived, felt mystery?

She studied AI and the philosophy of mind at Sussex University over twenty years ago, long before it became fashionable. Around the same time she left the Catholic Church and set off on "the journey". She first connected deeply with the teachings of Amoda Maa — a contemporary spiritual teacher whose work points directly to the ground of being beneath thought, emotion and identity. Amoda Maa's approach is not a technique or a system but an invitation into honest, undefended contact with what is — allowing experience to be exactly as it is, without fixing, suppressing or spiritualising it. Mary briefly supported Amoda Maa in offering satsangs to the London community.

Mary has always created spaces for people to gather and wake up together — from Baby Raves in Camden to initiating Extinction Rebellion in Huntingdon, and of course the Women's Circle itself.

As a constant student of the mystery she holds a Diploma in Transpersonal Psychology, certificates in breathwork facilitation, ecstatic dance, and kundalini yoga for pregnancy. She has trained in shamanic drumming and is close to completing her Shamanic Practitioner training at Shamanka. She has spent years in deep meditation and consciousness work with Fleur and Thessa as part of the Hidden Feminine Ways and Tantra Soma lineages — becoming, as she puts it, a student of the mystery.
